Name: Darcie Kiyan

Company: El Camino Hospital Foundation

Darcie Kiyan is a life-long resident of San Jose and currently the Director of Annual Giving and Operations for El Camino Hospital Foundation. El Camino Hospital is an acute-care, 443-bed, nonprofit and locally governed organization with campuses in Mountain View and Los Gatos, California.

The hospital is known for its early adoption of advanced medical technology and the compassionate delivery of personalized care.  In her leadership role at the Foundation, Darcie is focused on growing philanthropic support from the community.

El Camino Hospital Foundation, an independent 501 (c)(3), raises funds that enable the hospital to provide an extraordinary level of care, beyond what fees and reimbursements alone would allow it to afford.

She has a strong commitment to the local community, currently serving on the board of directors of the Japantown Community Congress of San Jose (JCCsj). San Jose is home to one of the three remaining Japantowns in the country and the JCCsj works to preserve that unique history while supporting the vibrant diversity of Japantown. As a fundraising professional with experience working with many local nonprofit organizations in the arts, health, and human services sectors, she is also actively involved with the Silicon Valley Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

Darcie is a proud product of San Jose’s public education system and has a BA in Sociology from San Jose State University with a concentration in Community Change. In her free time, Darcie, along with her husband, Alex, and their dog, Koa, enjoy hiking in the many great open spaces and parks in the South Bay.

Wondering how you can help during this time? Social distancing doesn't mean social isolation. We still need to support the nonprofits in our region who are continuing to provide critical services to the people of our community day and night—ensuring our most vulnerable populations are being housed, fed and cared for. However, they could really use our help in a number of ways: donating extra supplies, offering your time as a volunteer or through any generous donations in order to sustain themselves.
