Elle Washburn has dedicated the last twenty-seven years to public service.  She is a twenty three-year veteran with the San Jose Police Department.  Her assignments have varied from working Special Operations Metro Unit to Narcotic Covert Investigations.  Currently, Elle is a Patrol Lieutenant in the Foothill Division in East San Jose.  Elle has also successfully led the Department‚Äôs Body-Worn Camera Program from its inception in 2013.  The program reached a milestone in January 2017 when her team completed deployment to every sworn member of the Department.

Elle‚Äôs passion is the study of Leadership and developing future leaders who will work to elevate the profession of law enforcement by build community partnerships and trust.  Elle is studying Leadership and Organizational Studies as a senior at Saint Mary‚Äôs College of California and is scheduled to graduate in August 2018.  Elle loves school and is considering a Master‚Äôs Degree program from San Jose State University upon graduation.

Elle is also an avid athlete who enjoys open water swimming and trail running.  She completed Ironman Arizona, a 140.6-mile race, in 2012.  In June of this year she will make her fourth Alcatraz Crossing by swimming across the Bay after jumping off a ferry in rough water next to the infamous rock.

Elle and her husband enjoy cooking and own a small event catering company in the Santa Cruz area. Her 15-year old son often helps at events as an apprentice chef. When Elle does finally sit still, you can find her reading nutrition books on the couch with her two Yorkies and a glass of red wine!

Southwest Launches Sale, Extends Open Middle Seat, And Adds Health Declaration For Customers
