San Jose, Calif.‚Äî The Silicon Valley Organization PAC (SVO PAC) Board of Trustees today announced the first round of key candidate endorsements for San Jose City Council districts 7 and 9, as well as the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors ‚Äì District 4.

"The endorsed candidates have demonstrated a comprehensive understanding of issues that we believe impact the success of business and support a prosperous economy in Silicon Valley,” says Matthew Mahood, President & CEO, of The Silicon Valley Organization. “We endorsed these candidates because of their alignment with our positions on critical issues that support The SVO’s mission of economic development through business retention, expansion and recruitment for the region.”

San Jose City Council District 7

In District 7, SVO PAC endorses Thomas Duong.  Thomas has demonstrated impeccable leadership skills through his service in the U.S. Air Force for over 10 years.  As a branch manager at First Bank, Thomas possesses valuable business and real estate expertise that is critical to understanding how pro-business policies can positively impact the neighborhoods of District 7.  For these reasons, Thomas has earned the sole endorsement of SVO PAC.

In District 9, SVO PAC endorses Pam Foley. Pam has served as an elected Trustee of the San Jose Unified School District since 2004 and a small business owner in the mortgage industry for over 30 years.  Pam has consistently demonstrated a keen understanding of the issues that impact small businesses and those issues that most impact the community. This has earned Pam SVO PAC‚Äôs sole endorsement.

Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors – District 4

In the District 4 supervisorial race, SVO PAC endorses former Councilmember Pierluigi Oliverio. Pierluigi has represented District 6 for nearly 10 years, elected and re-elected by the residents of Willow Glen in 2008 and 2012.  Throughout his public service, Pierluigi has demonstrated a leadership style that includes listening to all sides, thoughtful policy deliberations, prioritizing neighborhood services, championed fiscal responsibility and transparency in local government. For these reasons, Pierluigi has earned SVO PAC‚Äôs sole endorsement.
