Name: Amanda Rawson

Amanda Rawson is the Major Gifts Officer at the San Jose Museum of Arts. She has participated in the cultural art sector both as an employee and volunteer for more than seven years. Previously, Amanda holds the position of Donor and External Relations Manager at the San Jose Museum of Quilts & Textiles.

Amanda received her bachelor’s in Art History from UC Berkeley. During her time at CAL she immersed herself in the art practice department and focused her studies on turn of the 20th century British art.

Amanda has recently completed the 2017 cohort of EAP/ SFBA and was involved with the creative cities affinity group that presented public art at BART during Emergence 2017. Amanda is excited to learn from and engage with those in the Leadership San Jose 2018 cohort and share thoughts on arts and culture with those that work in various fields in Silicon Valley.

She is a current steering committee member for genARTS Silicon Valley, Board member of San Jose‚Äôs Exhibition District, a recent addition to the Board of Directors for the California Association of Museums.

Wondering how you can help during this time? Social distancing doesn't mean social isolation. We still need to support the nonprofits in our region who are continuing to provide critical services to the people of our community day and night—ensuring our most vulnerable populations are being housed, fed and cared for. However, they could really use our help in a number of ways: donating extra supplies, offering your time as a volunteer or through any generous donations in order to sustain themselves.
