Brian Matchett is a Police Lieutenant and Commander of the Internal Affairs Unit.

Brian grew up in the Los Angeles area and moved to San Jose to attend San Jose State University on an athletic scholarship. He received a B.S degree in Administration of Justice and joined the San Jose Police Department soon after graduation.

During his 22 year career, Brian worked a variety of assignments including Patrol, Metro, Motorcycle Officer, Field Training Supervisor, Regional Auto Theft Task Force and Internal Affairs.

He is interested in learning and growing in his field and rarely turns down the opportunity to network and learn from others in the community.

We still need to support the nonprofits in our region who are continuing to provide critical services to the people of our community day and night—ensuring our most vulnerable populations are being housed, fed and cared for. However, they could really use our help in a number of ways: donating extra supplies, offering your time as a volunteer or through any generous donations in order to sustain themselves.
