Judy M. Ross, AAE, CAE, is the Assistant Director of Aviation for Mineta San Jos√© International Airport (SJC) since April 2018.  She served as Interim Assistant Director of Aviation since 2017 and Deputy Director of Aviation ‚Äì Planning and Development at Silicon Valley‚Äôs airport since 2015.

This experience has included managing the administrative functions of the Airport Director’s Office as well as the five Airport divisions: operations, facilities and engineering, finance, planning and development, and marketing and communications.

Judy’s vast knowledge of the aviation industry and steady management approach was developed through her three years at SJC as well as at other U.S. airports. She served as Deputy Aviation Director at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport for seven years; Director of Airport Planning and Development at Little Rock National Airport for two years; and while at San Diego International Airport for 10 years, she was Manager of Program Controls, as well as holding other positions.

Judy earned a Master‚Äôs degree in Aviation Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and a Bachelor‚Äôs degree in Business Administration from the University of North Dakota. She is also an Accredited Airport Executive through the American Association of Airport Executives. Additionally, she serves as the Second Vice President on the Board of Directors for the Southwest Chapter of AAAE, where she is also a Certified Airport Executive.

Judy decided to participate in Leadership San Jose because she believes it offers a great opportunity to build stronger relationships and have collaborative conversations how we can be mutually beneficial to each other to build a stronger region.  I hope to gain a greater understanding  of the community and its dynamics.

Also, she believes it provides her with a greater perspective how the airport may best be engaged in the community, make key contacts, and build strong relationships within the region.

In Judy’s free time she loves to hike and travel.

Wondering how you can help during this time? Social distancing doesn't mean social isolation. We still need to support the nonprofits in our region who are continuing to provide critical services to the people of our community day and night—ensuring our most vulnerable populations are being housed, fed and cared for. However, they could really use our help in a number of ways: donating extra supplies, offering your time as a volunteer or through any generous donations in order to sustain themselves.
