SAN JOSE, CA. ‚Äì Southwest Airlines¬Æ added another important destination to its growing list of cities available nonstop from Mineta San Jose International Airport (SJC) on Jan. 13, 2019, with an inaugural flight to El Paso. Book flights now at Southwest.com

As part of Southwest’s continued expansion of service from Silicon Valley, the carrier is making it easier for those living and doing business in west Texas to travel through convenient El Paso International Airport (ELP).

Southwest launched once-weekly, Sunday service to and from El Paso yesterday as shown below, and plans to expand to twice-weekly Sunday service on April 14, 2019:

San Jose - El Paso

  • 9:55 AM - Sunday
  • 1:25 PM - Sunday

El Paso - San Jose

  • 7:40 AM - Sunday
  • 9:25 AM - Sunday

 Average flight time is 2 hours, 38 minutes. Times of day shown are local. Flight times will change
       with twice-weekly Sunday service beginning April 14.  See

Southwest is SJC’s largest airline with 109 peak departures daily to these 28 cities:

Albuquerque, Austin, Baltimore/Washington, Boise, Burbank, Cabo San Lucas, Chicago/Midway, Dallas/Love Field, Denver, El Paso, Houston-Hobby, Las Vegas, Los Angeles/LAX, Nashville (begins 6/9/19), New Orleans (seasonal), Ontario, Orange County/Santa Ana, Orlando, Phoenix, Portland, Raleigh/Durham (begins 6/9/19), Reno, Saint Louis, Salt Lake City, San Diego, Seattle, Spokane and Tucson.

Southwest previously announced its intention to offer Hawaii service from Mineta San Jose International Airport with tickets expected to be sold in 2019.

Southwest Launches Sale, Extends Open Middle Seat, And Adds Health Declaration For Customers
Southwest announced their plans to keep middle seats open through at least September 30, reinforced its face mask policy and added another layer of confidence for travelers by requiring Customers to complete a Health Declaration prior to traveling.
