Politicians like Jake Tonkel Need to listen to us for a change.

Q: Does he hear we don’t want the largest property tax increase in California history right now with zero guarantee of how it will be spent and zero effort to cut waste and abuse first?

NO: Jake Tonkel supports amending Prop 13, which will hurt homeowners, seniors and struggling small businesses by allowing property taxes to skyrocket. [1]

Q: Does he hear us when we say we don’t want to end single family zoning inSan Jose?

NO: Jake Tonkel supports policies that would essentially end single family zoning, allowing large apartment buildings to be constructed right up to lot lines without any meaningful say from neighbors and neighborhoods. [2]

Q: Does he hear us say we don’t want to cut the San Jose Police Department budget by 80%?

NO: Instead of putting in the work of reforming our police department to make it more transparent and accountable, Jake Tonkel was part of an anti-police protest that targeted Councilmember Dev Davis’ home while her children were there. 3 He encourages this kind of intimidation rather than actually working together to solve our challenges. [

Make sure Jake Tonkel hears us. Vote NO on Jake Tonkel.
