Margaret Tamisiea joins the SVO Foundation as the interim Director of Community Development, leading both the Leadership San Jose and Women Engaged programs.

She has been working in the San Jose/Silicon Valley community for over two decades focused on philanthropy and community service.

She was recently a Community Affairs Program Manager at Brocade, managing their charitable giving programs.

Margaret has been a trusted philanthropic advisor to many Silicon Valley Tech companies including Adobe, Seagate, Aruba Networks, Ebay and Synopsis.

Her experience crosses multiple sectors – private, public, and nonprofit. Margaret is passionate about improving the local community and inspiring others to get involved.

Margaret currently serves on the MACLA Board of Directors and the San Jose Leadership Advisory Board.

A graduate of San Jose State University, Margaret lives in San Jose with her husband Steve and puppy Milo.

Wondering how you can help during this time? Social distancing doesn't mean social isolation. We still need to support the nonprofits in our region who are continuing to provide critical services to the people of our community day and night—ensuring our most vulnerable populations are being housed, fed and cared for. However, they could really use our help in a number of ways: donating extra supplies, offering your time as a volunteer or through any generous donations in order to sustain themselves.
