This Thursday Aug. 11, the San Jose Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce hosts the next installment of its Access Silicon Valley series, focused around Workforce Development efforts in San Jose, including the Chamber‚Äôs Strive San Jose program who‚Äôs first cohort completed their paid summer internships this summer.

Students participating in the three-day internship event were surveyed by the SJSV Chamber and the following findings were gathered:

  • 70% of students said this was their first job
  • 80% of students created their first LinkedIn profile
  • 30% of students created their first resume

With the development of our region’s workforce facing critical needs, our Access Silicon Valley panelists will discuss the perspective of workforce development from three different viewpoints:

  • The school districts providing career pathways opportunities for our future workforce
  • The business community participating in the development of these pathways
  • The students participating in them

Access Silicon Valley allows SJSV Chamber members to engage with leading policy makers at the city, county, state and federal levels to discuss issues that matter to the business community of San Jose and Silicon Valley.
