Raising taxes is nothing new for David Cohen. He supported raising taxes on Berryessa families, saying there was no other way to provide needed services for their cash-strapped schools. Yet at the same time, he billed Berryessa taxpayers $2,500 dollars for hotel and travel expenses to attend a conference in San Francisco — just a short drive from his home. [1]

Cohen supports a ballot measure that would lead to the largest tax increase in California history —

shuttering small businesses struggling to hang on during the pandemic and raising the cost of living

for middle-class families. [2] The proposal undermines Prop 13, which keeps seniors and families in their homes — and what’s worse, has no accountability for how the funds will be spent.

The last thing San Jose needs is another tax and spend politician at City Hall.

David Cohen: A spender, not a saver. Vote NO on David Cohen.
