The silicon valley organization's President & CEO Matt Mahood MC'd the City of San Jose BusinessOwnerSpace.com's 6th Annual Summit of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Friday, May 5.
"Truley, small business, although we have giant industry, giant companies here, small business is the backbone of our local economy, our downtown and our local neighborhoods; even here in Silicon Valley," Mahood told the crowd.

The event was held as part of National Small Business Week, an effort put on annually by the U.S. Small Business Administration.

Every year since 1963, the President of the United States has issued a proclamation announcing National Small Business Week, which recognizes the critical contributions of America‚Äôs entrepreneurs and small business owners.
