The SVO Supports Google’s Planning Application



San José, CA – The silicon valley organization (The SVO) supports Google’s visionary planning application that will add vibrancy in the heart of San José’s downtown with new jobs, housing and open space.

Google’s plan will add up to:

·        6.5 million square feet of office space

·        3,000 to 5,000 new housing units within a dense 80 acres

·        15 acres of parks, plazas and green spaces

·        and 500,000 square feet of active space (retail, cultural, arts, education, hotel,and more).

“We are excited to see Google moving ahead with a formal application that brings much needed jobs, housing and community gathering spaces to downtown San José. The SVO and broader business community are ecstatic to see Google invest in the capital of Silicon Valley with a smart and holistic mixed-use project. Google’s investment, combined with the future Diridon station and downtown BART stations,will contribute greatly to the vibrancy and innovative prominence of San José as the epicenter of tech and innovation in the world,” said Matt Mahood, President & CEO of The silicon valley organization (The SVO).
