On behalf of The Silicon Valley Organization (The SVO), I am writing to support San Jose and Santa Clara’s bid for the 2019 Confederation of North, Central American, and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) Gold Cup. By way of background, we are the Silicon Valley’s premier business advocacy organization representing 1,400+ companies that employ nearly 300,000 workers and we represent our membership as the region’s largest Chamber of Commerce.

The 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup was hosted at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. We were thrilled to participate in this partnership to foster the growth of our community and advance economic development throughout the region. The SVO remains committed to the Silicon Valley sports community by supporting the CONCACAF Gold Cup to continue being hosted at Levi’s Stadium.

The SVO’s distinguished membership includes many professional sports franchises, such as the San Francisco 49ers, San Jose Earthquakes, San Jose Sharks, Golden State Warriors, and the Oakland Athletics. As such, we believe that it is important to continue hosting the Gold Cup in Silicon Valley, which is a diverse and vibrant community that will have a wide audience for CONCACAF. We hope that you will continue supporting our community by continuing to host the Gold Cup at Levi’s Stadium.

Wondering how you can help during this time? Social distancing doesn't mean social isolation. We still need to support the nonprofits in our region who are continuing to provide critical services to the people of our community day and night—ensuring our most vulnerable populations are being housed, fed and cared for. However, they could really use our help in a number of ways: donating extra supplies, offering your time as a volunteer or through any generous donations in order to sustain themselves.
