Pathway to Political Leadership

Preparing future leaders with the knowledge, resources and

network they need to be successful in their pursuit of public

office or public policy


The SVO Candidate Cultivation Academy (CCA) is a comprehensive, four-month training program for people who are interested in running for public office or engage deeply in public policy.

The SVO CCA is non-partisan and works in concert with The SVO's efforts to make Silicon Valley the best place to live, work, play, and run a business in by identifying and fostering the development of future candidates who are interested in helping to shape the future of San Jose and Silicon Valley.


  • Attend all six sessions in order to qualify for The SVO Candidate Academy Certificate

  • Complete all the assignments

  • Ask questions and reach out for help you need additional resources


  • Anyone who has an interest in pursuing political office or gain a better understanding of public policy such as economic development, housing, transportation, environment, education, public safety, to name a few.

  • Ability and desire to build effective network

  • Commitment to full participation and attendance requirements of the training
