Rita Rothstein is a First Vice President and Wealth Advisor for Morgan Stanley Wealth Management.  She is dedicated to helping her clients reach their financial goals by working with them to design a plan that is achievable and tailored to their particular needs and desires.  She is especially interested in educating women about their finances, and is a frequent speaker on financial topics for women’s organizations and forums.

Rita brings to her financial work an academic and professional background in human services, giving her a well-developed ability to listen, and a strong desire to make a difference in people’s lives.  Her goal is to contribute to her clients’ sense of well-being by giving them a safe place to discuss their finances, and a strategy to achieve desired outcomes.

Rita has a Series 7 license (securities), a Series 66 license (financial consultant) and also is licensed for life, disability and
long term care insurance, as well as annuities (CA Insurance License Number 0C68423).

Prior to entering the Financial Services field, Rita was Director of Programs for the Emergency Housing Consortium in Santa Clara County, overseeing 11 programs for the homeless.  Prior to that, she was Program Director for Pathways Society, a residential drug and alcohol recovery facility in San Jose.  She owned a retail music store in Sunnyvale for 20 years, and can play just about any instrument well enough to demonstrate it.

Rita has a Master’s degree in Social Work from San Jose State University, where she graduated with honors, and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Cal State Northridge.  She is a founding member of the Business Builders chapter of Business Network International (BNI).  She also has served on the board of the Support Network for Battered Women, and is currently a board member of The Girls’ Middle School in Palo Alto.

Rita is married to Eric Scheible. She has two grown children, Shannon and Ryan, and three step-daughters, Kelly, Cami and Jamie.  Rita enjoys the theater – especially Broadway musicals – movies, travel, hiking and spending time with family and friends.  She has participated in the Avon Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk as well as six marathons.
