The SVO Voices Support of Museum Place Development

The silicon valley organization (The SVO) is submitting this letter in support of Disposition and Development Agreement, Lease Amendment, and Related Site Development Permit, Special Use Permit, and Vesting Tentative Map Located on the Northwest Corner of West San Carlos Street and South Market Street at 180 Park Avenue.

By way of background, we are the Silicon Valley’s premier business advocacy organization representing 1,400+ employers. We represent our membership as the region’s largest Chamber of Commerce. 

Museum Place is an exceptional vibrant option for historic Downtown San Jose, incorporating much needed tech office space, hotel, restaurants and an expansion of the Tech Museum of Innovation.

The project incorporates highly desired executive housing to help the city attract top talent to its downtown core. In addition to the highlights of the project, a total of $21,000,000 in city fees will be paid on the current project configuration, generating much needed dollars for the city. 

For these reasons, we urge the city to support the Disposition and Development Agreement, Lease Amendment, and Related Site Development Permit, Special Use Permit, and Vesting Tentative Map Located on the Northwest Corner of West San Carlos Street and South Market Street at 180 Park Avenue.
