Name: Heather Lerner
Title: SVO Foundation Board Member; Development Director
Heather started on the board of the Happy Hollow Foundation in 2002, and in 2009 became the organization’s first Executive Director in its 50 year history. In her leadership role at the Foundation, Heather partners with the City of San Jose to provide important funding and support for the growth and expansion of Happy Hollow, covering exhibit renovation, conservation, the art of puppetry, and education scholarship. She secured the organization’s first $1 million dollar donation.
In 2011, Heather was recognized as one of the “Top 100 Women of Influence in Silicon Valley”, by the San Jose Silicon Valley Business Journal.
Heather is a Rotarian at the Downtown San Jose Club, and has served on their board of directors since 2014. Heather also serves on many Rotary committees, including Downtown Development and the Play Garden Activities Committee. She also serves on the board of directors for City Lights Theater Company, Save Our Trails and is a founding board member of Los Gatos Youth Theatre. She also served two terms as a Trustee of Kehillah Jewish High School in Palo Alto. She is an alumni of Community Leadership San Jose, Class of 2011.
The SVO Foundation is The SVO's line of business, specifically focused on making a local impact in the areas of education, workforce development, civic entrepreneurship, leadership, volunteerism and philanthropy. It accomplishes this through its Strive San Jose initiative and Leadership San Jose program.
