Heather grew up in the Midwest and moved out to the Bay Area as a young adult.
She graduated from UC Santa Cruz with a BA in Psychology, from Santa Clara University with an MA in Counseling Psychology, and then earned her LMFT (license in marriage and family therapy).
As a counselor at Notre Dame, Heather’s focus is on empowering young women to be the future leaders of tomorrow and helping students (and parents) navigate the challenges of adolescence.
Previously, Heather served as therapist and Assistant Director of Youth Support Services at Community Solutions, overseeing and supporting mental health and supportive services to the community.
Heather is excited to join SVO and partner with other leaders in the community, learn more about San Jose, and find new ways to be an advocate.
In her spare time, Heather is a community activist. She organized the Families Belong Together rallies in San Jose in 2018 and is an active part of the Orchard City Indivisible community.
Heather is a Board member for the Audacity Performing Arts Project, which provides arts education opportunities for the most vulnerable schools in San Jose.
Heather considers herself a foodie and enjoys spending time with her husband and their fur baby, as well as travel, read, attend concerts, and hang out with friends and family.
